String Orchestra

PTM String Orchestras are intended to add depth and variety to schools that do not have a music program, or that are interested in expanding their offering from well established band and choir programs. String instruments like the violin, viola, and cello are some of the most popular and diverse instruments with a history and breath of music spanning centuries. We look to tap into that history and diversity by playing genres of music that reflect the students that participate.

PTM String Orchestras will meet after-school, and can have 4-36 students. The ensembles are intended for beginners to intermediate players, and will develop concepts like musicality, technique, reading, and collaboration. Our repertoire and curriculum is designed to be flexible and incorporate a breadth of students.

The PTM String Orchestra programs will be at no cost to the school or the student. Lessons, teachers, and instruments (when able) will be provided to the school. The ensemble will meet for two hours once a week, and each semester will end with a concert.
